Even more "breathing room." Critical Care starts construction of new building in Kaltenkirchen

The medical technology company Critical Care is growing in Kaltenkirchen: In August 2020, the ground was broken for construction of a new office building on Hans-Stockmar-Straße. The medium-sized family company wants to expand significantly over an area of 3,000 m². With products for breathing therapy, oxygen supply and sleep medicine, Critical Care is one of the leading providers of medical technology in northern Germany. The company headquarters has been located in Kaltenkirchen since 2008.

The new building was designed in such a way that an additional 2,000 m² of office space can be added for further expansion. Before completion and the planned relocation in early 2021, Critical Care already secured another commercial property on Hans-Stockmar-Straße, where an additional hall with an area of 4,000 m² can be constructed if needed.

"With the new commercial real estate in the immediate vicinity of the existing operation, the company can achieve its plans for expansion in our city and secure important jobs moving into the future," remarks Mayor Hanno Krause enthusiastically.

Accompanied by Mayor Hanno Krause, Susanne Steenbuck (2nd Deputy Mayor), Council Chairman Hans-Jürgen Scheiwe and Sabine Ohlrich (City of Kaltenkirchen, Business Development Office), owners and married couple Thomas and Bärbel Haase officially launched the construction phase together with their grandson Max, Commercial Director Henning Offt, and architect Siegfried E. Mollenhauer.
The office building, nearly 100 m long, was design using an innovative and environmentally friendly wood construction method by architect Sigfried Mollenhauer.
