The industrial and commercial area of South Neumünster is one of the largest industrial areas in Schleswig-Holstein. The companies settled here are primarily from the processing industry and logistics companies such as mobile hydraulics manufacturer Danfoss, Voigt Logistik, Dachser and the freight parcel centre of the Deutsche Post. As a logistics site, Neumünster is the Schleswig-Holstein hub for international and regional transport of goods as well as for the materials industry.
