Boeing builds logistics centre in Henstedt-Ulzburg

24.03.2021

Boeing is constructing a new European distribution centre in Henstedt-Ulzburg, on a property extending roughly 34,350 m². From here, the company specialising in aerospace technology will supply chemicals and special materials to its global customer base, with 190 employees from the region working in the distribution centre in future. This strategic investment allows Boeing to expand its capacities and product portfolio, thereby further enhancing its growth strategy in the highly competitive aerospace market. Construction work began in March 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by the second quarter of 2022.

"We are thrilled that Boeing has chosen Henstedt-Ulzburg as a business location," says Mayor Ulrike Schmidt. "The company is already well established in our region, which means that important skilled workers can be retained. The 15-year location guarantee highlights the intention of Boeing to operate the site in Henstedt-Ulzburg in the long term and expand further."

Dr Bernd Buchholz, Minister of Economic Affairs, Transport, Employment, Technology and Tourism for the State of Schleswig-Holstein, added: "We are proud that Boeing is establishing a site in Henstedt-Ulzburg and that Schleswig-Holstein has won out over other locations in Germany."
